ACX Conference – Inclusive Design in Vermont Communities
On May 21, 2019, EHAD participated and volunteered during Vermont’s Architecture & Construction Expo (ACX) – Inclusive Design in Vermont Communities.
During the day-long event, the ACX hosted a three-hour Community Outreach Design Charrette. Nathalia Ellis organized and led a team, which provided renovation input and design ideas to the Community Emergency Relief Volunteers (CERV). CERV sought to convert an existing town garage into a new clothing and food shelf for the Town of Northfield, Vermont.
The ACX conference is a collaboration between AIAVT and CSI Vermont Chapter. This year the conference focused on Inclusive
Design and how it can help improve our community. This year conference had Christine Hallquist as keynote speaker, talking about being humanitarian in the era of climate change. There was also a panel discussion with different leaders of our community representing a variety of groups in our community that can benefit from inclusive design.
